Why Neape
Drawn by people
Every portrait is drawn by a human illustrator, working from your photograph in the style you choose. You see a proof before anything is printed, and one round of changes is included.
Made once, for one family
Nothing is made in advance. Each piece is made to order from your own photograph or your child’s artwork. Tell us the names to include and the details that matter, and we make it from there.
Your photographs stay yours
We use your photographs for your order and nothing else, and delete them within seven days of delivery. They never appear in our marketing: the pieces we show are our own commissions.
Printed to archival standards
Prints are made in New York on 100% cotton, acid-free Hahnemühle paper with pigment inks, the materials galleries and museums rely on to hold color for decades.
Framed to protect
Wood frames in matte black, matte white, natural maple, or natural walnut, with cotton mats, acid-free backing, and museum acrylic. It is shatter-safe for a child’s room and shields the piece from fading and yellowing. Museum acrylic blocks 99% of UV light, the main cause of fading.
Originals, kept as originals
We collect the first painting, or the drawing from the fridge door, from your home. We frame the original itself, never trimmed or glued, so what hangs on the wall is the one your child made.
